What I take on
The jobs I plan and do
Each of these can wait for a booked day. If yours can't, the hours page says who to call.

Old-house rewiring
Cloth-wrapped cable, knob-and-tube, ungrounded outlets and plaster walls. I open a room at a time, run new cable, and leave the walls ready for you to patch.

Opened and closed one room at a time

Panels and new circuits
A new panel or a bigger service, and the circuits for a heat pump, an induction range or a car charger. The load check comes first.
The power company's disconnect and reconnect booked for you
Permit and inspection on the estimate

Lighting and switches
New fixtures, dimmers, switches and outdoor lights, placed with you in the room. Small jobs are grouped into one visit.
Switches where your hand goes
Outdoor lights in the summer season
Before you pick a job
Do you take small jobs?
Yes, if they can wait for a planned day. I group them: a dead outlet, three switches and a fixture can go on one visit. I don't make a trip for one outlet.
Do you pull permits?
Where the work needs one, I pull the permit and book the inspection. Your town's inspector has the last word on what needs a permit, so I ask before I quote.
Will a heat pump or a car charger need a new panel?
Often the first step is a load check: adding up what the panel serves now and what you want to add. Sometimes it fits, sometimes it needs a bigger service. I tell you which before I write the estimate.
Not sure which job it is?
Send a photo of the panel door and your meter, or tell me what you want to do. I will say which job it is, and which season suits it.
