Henri Fournier
Owner and master electrician
I do planned electrical work in the houses around Portland, and I do all of it myself.
I started in a small shop in the West End, on the jobs nobody else wanted: plaster walls, cloth cable, panels somebody had added to for sixty years. I like those houses. I started my own company so that the person who looks at the work is the person who does it.
I don't do emergency work, because I work alone and tired work on a panel isn't careful work. What I can give you is a booked day, a written estimate and a house that is clean when I leave.
What I take on
- Old-house rewiring
- Panels and new circuits
- Lighting and switches

How I work
Three rules I keep
One person
Henri comes to the estimate and Henri does the work. There is no crew to send in my place.
One calendar
I book by season, in daytime hours, and say so. Nights, weekends and emergencies aren't on it.
Writing first
The estimate lists the work and the permit. If I find something in the wall, I stop and we talk before the price changes.
Hands on the work
Fixtures hung, circuits labeled, a house left clean
Small jobs are grouped into one visit. Big jobs are done a room at a time, so you keep a kitchen.
Power off at the panel and tested before I touch a wire
Every circuit labeled to match a drawing
Boxes, caps and trimmings leave with me
